{Am I a bunny rabbit? Just kidding!}
Our darling fuzzball of a kitten turned into an adult on May 24th! She's officially 2, which according to various searches on the internet means she is approx. 24 in cat years... Cam and I always joke that Pirate and I have similar personality traits, so I guess it is fitting we're sharing the same age for a few months, haha! ♥

Pirate has been with Cam and I since the beginning of our relationship, so watching her grow is a reminder of our time together. She was born at a friend's place (where we lived at the time) from their house cat Karma and an unknown alley cat. I used to describe the kitten I wanted for myself while Karma was pregnant, and Pirate must have heard me, right down to her eye patch and her "leg warmers" (colouring on her legs). I love her with all my heart... even when she's being a little rapscallion! But with a name like Dread Pirate Squishy-Face, what was I expecting?
What do you do for a cat's birthday?...

Cam and I decided to wake up early and make a "play fort" for her birthday celebration of sorts. Basically we just took a table and chairs and covered it with a blanket. Voila, instant kitty cave. She spent a lot of her day in there, purched atop a chair but wedged between the top of the table and the chair. What a goof.

We also grabbed every single toy we could find, random paper bags, bits of string, and other various things she's claimed as "hers" over the past 2 years, and placed them all over her favourite rug. She went pretty crazy for a while (the fact we added a bit of catnip just intensified this response from the birthday girl hahaha).

As a gift we got her Da Bird. She freaks out over it! We hide it in a box, which is now chewed, scratched, and mewed at constantly! I think we all had a good day. And I have the most spoiled and loved
